What is Balance?
Balance is a specialized flexible-education class for neurodivergent youth 10-12 to sharpen a variety of skills that are often overlooked in typical education settings.
Our program is rooted in positive psychology and behavioural sciences and is specialized for neurodivergent youth to thrive! Join us for an awesome afternoon to promote social skills, friendship, emotional regulation skills, mental health and executive functioning skills in a fun small group setting!
Balance is an afternoon program that takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays From 1:00pm-3:45, a full term lasts 16 weeks (Sept-Dec) or enroll for a half term (8 weeks). We provide each of our learners with a written letter exempting them from school to attend this specialized program in the afternoons twice per week.

Developing a sense of self awareness & values awareness.
Developing a sense of Social awareness.
Strengthening problem solving and perspective taking skills.
Bullying awareness and responding to bullying.
Responding with Empathy and Compassion.
Developing a Growth mindset and “never give up” attitude.
Enhance collaborative teamwork.
Increase confidence and leadership.
Building healthy friendships with peers.
Learn flexible thinking and responding to challenges.
Strengthening executive functioning and decision making.
Time management, prioritization, organization and focus/attention.

Evidence-Based Foundation of the Program
This program is rooted in evidence based strategies from Positive Psychology and Applied Behavioural Sciences. The program uses Learning Theory and Behavioural Skills Training to teach a variety of Social skills, Executive Functioning skills and Abstract Reasoning skills! These vital skills will help equip youth with the skills and mindset they need to succeed in an ever-changing world. We also utilize strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to teach Emotional Regulation, Mindfulness and to teach kids how their thoughts, emotions and behaviours are interconnected!
Our goal with this program is to teach our learners the vital skills they need to live a balanced life!

Youth between the ages of 10-12 years old that may have ASD, ADHD or other learning exceptionalities.

The program begins the first week of September on Wednesday Sept 6th, and is every Mondays and Wednesday from 1:00-3:45pm
A full term of the program is 16 weeks (Sept - Dec)
A half term is 8 weeks (Sept-Oct) OR (Nov-Dec)

Our Group Therapy rate is $55 an hour.
Each 2h 45min session is $151.25
AccessOAP funding is accepted.

We accept Ontario Autism Program (OAP) funding.
