Adaptive Minds for Kids & Youth
What is Adaptive Minds?
Adaptive Minds is a specialized social group program for neurodivergent youth that uses strategies from Psychology and Behavioural Sciences to help learners sharpen executive functioning skills, develop resilience, creative problem solving, leadership and flexible thinking skills in a fun and collaborative environment! Depending on the age of your learner our program may vary, please read below for details!

Our Adaptive Minds for kids 6-10 - is a 45 minute class that takes place weekly on Mondays from 4:00-4:45pm
Term 1: Sept 16th - 16th (13 weeks)
Term 2: Jan 13th - Mar 24th (10 weeks)
Term 3: Mar 31st - June 16th (10 weeks)
About the Program:
Adaptive Minds is a hands on social group to teach executive functioning (EF) skills to kids. We teach using fun activities such as:
Science Experiments
Baking activities
Art based or creative activities.
Building Activities
Games,
Other creative and hands on activities!
During our program we teach the following EF skills through fun activities:
Organization, Planning Time management & prioritization.
Problem Solving and flexible thinking.
Impulsivity and emotional regulation.
Self awareness and perspective taking.
Sustained Attention and persistence/resilience.
We also always promote a positive growth mindset, encourage friendship, confidence and leadership skills for our learners within the group!
Learners that may benefit:
Learners that struggle with executive functioning skills, social skills or may have a diagnosis of ADHD or ASD may benefit from this program. No formal diagnosis is required to join!
Costs & Funding
Each of our Group sessions is $65.00
13 Weeks: $845.00
10 Weeks: $650.00
OAP Core clinical funding can be used towards this program.
Extended health benefits may be eligible under social work.

Our Adaptive Minds for kids Teens (high school age) is a 90 minute class that takes place weekly on Thursdays from 6:30-8:00pm
Term 1: Sept 12th - Dec 19th (15 weeks)
Term 2: Jan 9th - Mar 27th (12 weeks)
Term 3: April 3rd - June 19th
About the Program:
Adaptive Minds is a hands on social group to teach executive functioning (EF) and social skills to teens.
We encourage our teens to explore their values and what is important to them
During our program we teach the following EF skills through fun activities:
Organization, Planning Time management & prioritization.
Problem Solving and flexible thinking.
Impulsivity and emotional regulation.
Self awareness and values identification.
Perspective taking and decision making.
Sustained Attention and persistence/resilience.
We also always promote a positive growth mindset, encourage friendship, confidence and leadership skills for our learners within the group!
Teens that may benefit:
Teens that struggle with executive functioning skills, social skills or may have a diagnosis of ADHD or ASD may benefit from this program. No formal diagnosis is required to join!
Costs & Funding
Our group therapy rate is $55 per hour or $82.50 per session.
12 weeks: $990.00
15 weeks: $1237.50
OAP Core clinical funding can be used towards this program.
Extended health benefits may be eligible.

Evidence-Based Foundation of the Program
This program is rooted in evidence based strategies from Positive Psychology and Applied Behavioural Sciences. The program uses Learning Theory and Behavioural Skills Training to teach a variety of Executive Functioning skills and Abstract Reasoning skills! These vital skills will help equip youth with the skills and mindset they need to succeed in an ever-changing world.
