At Willow Tree Mind & Wellness we specialize in teaching children and youth Social Emotional Learning skills (SELs), Self-Compassion, and Mindfulness skills to promote Mental Health & Wellness in fun and creative ways! We offer a wide range of programs with a foundation in positive psychology and behavioural science to provide a balanced approach to our therapy sessions. We believe in a holistic, collaberative and individualized approach to therapy and provide specialized programming for children and youth with Autism and ADHD. We know that children learn best through fun, creative and hands on methods of teaching - all of our programming teaches evidence-based concepts through fun and interactive methods!

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors Degree or College Diploma in a social service related field - psychology, social work, child and youth care, ABA, etc.

  • Minimum 1 year of previous experience working with children and youth in a therapeutic capacity.

  • Experience facilitating group-based therapy programs under clinical supervision & guidance.

  • Experience providing 1:1 therapy with children or teens under clinical supervision & guidance.

  • Ability to receive and apply feedback provided during ongoing clinical supervision.

  • Experience or willingness to learn how to work with clients with Autism, ADHD, challenging behaviour and mental health challenges (anxiety, low self-esteem, negative thoughts, emotional dysregulation, depression and more).

  • Compassionate, fun and energetic teaching style!

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating group based therapy programs: social skills, early intervention, mindfulness, emotional regulation, anxiety, and more. Under clinical supervision & guidance.

  • Implementing 1:1 therapeutic programming with children and youth, under clinical supervision & guidance.

  • Conducting assessments with children and youth, under clinical supervision and guidance.

  • Support clients (2-16+) experiencing a variety of challenges, learn skills to build mental wellness - and live their best lives!

  • Lesson planning, preparing session materials, storage and cleanup after sessions.

  • Completing session notes/logs organized and stored safely.

  • Basic data collection and progress tracking.

  • Basic sanitation practices before and after sessions.

  • Working as a valued team member in collaboration with other staff.

  • Dedication to ongoing learning and professional development.
