About the Program
Our Yoga and Mindfulness Classes for kids and teens are designed to empower participants with tools for self-care, emotional regulation, and physical wellness.

Description texWho is the program for?
The program is for kids 6-8, 9-12 and Teens 13-17 years old.
We have 3 age groups of kids at this time, however if you are interested in an age group that is not yet available, please let us know and we will consider this in the future!
We specialize service for neurodivergent youth and offer inclusive programming.
The instructor is a certified children’s yoga teacher, learn more about her below!

Where is the program located?
The program is offered at 1434 Kingston Rd. Scarborough at Willow Tree Mind & Wellness Center.

When does the program take place?
Starting January 10th - March 28th (10 weeks)
No session Jan 24th or March 14th.
All programs take place Friday evenings, please see below for the specific group by age:
6-8 year old’s: Fridays 4:30-5:00pm
9-12 year old’s: Fridays 5:15-6:00pm
Teens 13+: Fridays 6:30-7:30pm

What are the costs?
6-8 year old’s: $20 per session OR:
$80 for 5 classes$150 for 10 classes
9-12 and Teens: $25 per session OR:
$110 for 5 classes
$200 for 10classes
What parents can expect:
Mindfulness Skills:
Children and teens will learn simple yet powerful techniques like guided breathwork, positive affirmations, syncing movement with breath and strategies to regulate their energy, helping them navigate everyday challenges.
Age-Appropriate Yoga Practices:
For younger children, creative flows and playful poses foster body awareness, focus, and emotional expression.
For teens, dynamic vinyasa and yin yoga flows help build balance, strength, flexibility, and relaxation.
Emotional Connection:
Programs emphasize listening to and understanding feelings, promoting self-awareness and emotional control for all ages.
Social Connection
Our program helps kids and teens build connections of like minded individuals in their community, we embrace friendship and hope your loved ones find connections with others while in our groups!
Unique Integrations
Depending on the interests and needs of the group, the instructor loves incorporating engaging activities such as:
Sound healing (singing bowls), music, fusion fitness, movement based games, art based integrations and more to ensure your children enjoy their classes!
This program supports holistic growth, helping kids and teens build confidence, resilience, and a healthy mind-body connection. Sessions are tailored to suit specific age groups for a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Meet the Instructor
Alyssa Maillet (She/Her), YYT 200hr, Children’s Yoga Teacher,
Hi there! My name is Alyssa, and I’m thrilled to be offering Yoga and Mindfulness classes at Willow Tree Mind & Wellness Centre!
I’m a Toronto-based yoga teacher with a deep passion for yoga and holistic wellness that spans over 10 years. With experience teaching Yoga to children, teens and adults, I have taught various classes such as: school wide yoga/ mindfulness workshops, sound healing, vinyasa yoga, restorative yoga, aerial yoga, yin yoga, and fusion/core fitness classes. I am also a Level 1 Usui Reiki practitioner.
As a passionate advocate for mental health, wellness, and conscious living, I know firsthand how yoga, meditation, and mindfulness techniques can strengthen the mind, body, and soul. I’m especially excited to share this journey with younger generations, as I love working with children and youth and making the practice fun and engaging!
A little about me: I love exploring nature through hiking, practicing yoga, hitting the gym, learning new things, listening to music, diving into photography, and connecting with others.
I can’t wait to connect with you and bring my knowledge and energy to Willow Tree and the youth in my programs!
