At Willow Tree Mind & Wellness we specialize in teaching children and youth Social Emotional Learning skills (SELs), Self-Compassion, and Mindfulness skills to promote Mental Health & Wellness in fun and creative ways! We offer a wide range of programs with a foundation in positive psychology and behavioural science to provide a balanced approach to our therapy sessions. We believe in a holistic, collaberative and individualized approach to therapy and provide specialized programming for children and youth with Autism and ADHD. We know that children learn best through fun, creative and hands on methods of teaching - all of our programming teaches evidence-based concepts through fun and interactive methods!

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers

  • Education: BSW or MSW

  • Experience facilitating group-based therapy programs.

  • Experience providing 1:1 therapy with children or teens.

  • Experience or willingness to learn how to develop and individualize programming from current evidence-based methods.

  • Experience or willingness to learn how to work with clients with Autism, ADHD, challenging behaviour and mental health challenges (anxiety, low self-esteem, negative thoughts, emotional dysregulation, depression and more).

  • Compassionate, fun and energetic teaching style!

  • Foundational knowledge of ACT and mindfulness would be beneficial, however training may be provided.

  • Passionate about ongoing learning and professional development!

  • Adding to our fun and supportive workplace culture!

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating group based therapy programs: social skills, mindfulness, emotional regulation, anxiety, and more.

  • Implementing 1:1 therapeutic programming with children and youth.

  • Developing individualized programming from current, evidence-based methods.

  • Parent training, coaching and consultation.

  • Leading, training and providing clinical support and supervision to support staff.

  • Completing session notes/logs organized and stored safely.

  • Basic data collection and progress tracking.

  • Assessment and report writing.

  • Advocating for clients, liaising with schools and other professionals.

  • Dedication to professional development.
